Job Overview: The HYCO Operation Excellence group has an opening for a Plant Engineer to support our HyCO production facilities in the North Region US. The successful candidate will be located primarily in the Chicago, IL area and report to the North Region Technical Manager. He/She will work closely with the North Enclave Director, facility managers and staff to solve technical problems, deliver productivity savings, and sustain safe, reliable, low cost production operations and potentially including other small HYCO plants. Primary Responsibilities: - Provide technical support to plant operations and maintenance, and turnaround organization in the optimization of plant operations - Process safety stewardship in all aspects: Process Safety Information, Change Management, Hazard Analysis and abnormal situation management, etc - Supporting safety and environmental compliance for assigned units - Delivery and support of initiatives to accomplish efficiency targets - Delivery and support of cost saving initiatives to accomplish productivity targets - Active support and participation in driving reliability initiatives through root cause analysis, idea generation and small project execution. Other Requirements: - Flexibility in work schedule to support operations during startup, shutdown or unplanned events. - Able to work in confined spaces and at elevated levels. Able to travel to the North Enclave HyCO plants up to 10% of the time.
