Job Description:
Focused on the overall financial planning, analysis, accounting, operations, and reporting of the organization. Provide leadership for developing and coordination of company financial analysis, planning and executing strategies that drive efficiencies and budget management functions. Ensure company accounting procedures conform to IFRS profitability. Job duties:
Responsible for reporting for manufacturing plant (Costa Rica).
Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting and financial functions in Costa Rica, including management of all accounting operations such as Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
Direct and coordinate financial planning and budget management functions. Report and provide proper explanation for all variances. Analyze the organization's financial position with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budget, and make proper recommendations.
Establish and implement accounting, financial, and budget policies and procedures to ensure that all financial transactions are executed and documented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Coordinate, review, and approve the preparation of internal and external financial statements as well as the monthly reports of results, monthly forecasts, annual operating plan, and strategic planning of statements and reports.
Evaluate accounting and internal control systems and enhance such systems as necessary, ensuring assets to be perfectly safe and guarded.
Enforce compliance with all required regulations, such as Tax Compliance and Regulatory Compliance.
Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural forecasts quarterly/annual/long-range operating profit position and cash flow.
Assess and advice regarding risks/opportunities in Financial Plans, as well as the Ringi process.
Oversee Costa Rica Plant Variances, Inventory Analysis, standard costs; provide a monthly financial review and analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly.
Monitor assumptions and recommend changes/updates to product standards in conjunction with MV Corporate Cost Accounting department.
Oversee the maintenance of all inter-company accounts reconciled monthly.
Assure adherence to IFRS. Resolve questions of IFRS and internal controls with corporate financial management.
Conduct formal meetings with manufacturing, finance, and sales management personnel to discuss all operation issues related to finance and accounting. Develop and publish a formal agenda and recap with actions to be taken.
Perform monthly walkthroughs of the operation with the Operations Director/VP & General Managers to discuss production and costing issues. Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, returns and inventory levels.
Perform audits of bills of materials to ensure product costs are accurate and accounted for properly.
Interface with other departments as required.
Perform and manage all Finance activities including preparation of the group budget and forecast as well as the manufacturing long range plan.
Oversee financial costs related to future business expansion.
Prepare variance analysis including price/volume/mix.
Drive continuous improvement efforts and initiate enhancements, both process and system related.
Advise/assist manufacturing and supply chain management with budget development.
Manage Project Proposal Request process (Ringi) including Capital Justification and ROI calculation for manufacturing investments.
Prepare financial statement variance commentaries and present to TAH Financial Management.
Publish internal management reporting (including regional profitability) and commentaries as required.
Responsible for worldwide reporting of Costa Rica manufacturing plant.
Oversee Inventory Analysis.
Responsible for internal management reporting.
Coordinate worldwide tax reporting and corresponding analysis related to transfer pricing as well as transfer pricing calculation support.
Oversee financial costs related to future manufacturing site selection.
Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
A minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant of professional experience in a senior-level Finance or Accounting position, including a minimum of ten (10) years of high-level technical knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment.
A minimum of seven (7) years of management or leadership experience.
Previous experience in recruiting, hiring cost preparation and variance analysis.
Ability to collaborate with Managers and evaluating Accounting and Finance staff.
Previous experience working at a multinational company.
Extensive knowledge of finance, IFRS accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
Knowledge in analyzing financial regulations and situations.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
Ability to assign/monitor work and motivate staff.
Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication and interpersonal skills in English and Spanish.
Proven history of successful management skills, capable of allocating and supervising business unit operations.
Fully bilingual in Spanish/English.
Proficient with MS Office, PCs, spreadsheets, and accounting software.
Desired Qualifications
Advanced degree preferred.
Medical MBA or CPA desirable.
Experience in medical device industry field (including manufacturing).
Experience as a plant controller desirable.
Free Trade Zone experience a plus. Experience in SAP desirable.
