　　About the Job

　　Requirements

　　Bachelor’s degree in chemistry (or closely related field).

　　Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience .

　　Understanding of laboratory analytical testing procedures, accuracy and precision.

　　The Plant Chemist must be comfortable working with all levels within the organization.

　　Working knowledge of statistics including the use of control charts.

　　Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate various lab instruments.

　　Must be willing to be on call on off shifts and/or weekends when needed to assist with issues.

　　Essential Functions

　　Some knowledge of wet and dry methods, XRF, LECO Carbon Sulfur analysis, and ICP-EDS preferred.

　　Conduct weekly and monthly checks, calibrations, cleaning, maintenance and troubleshooting of all equipment used for analytical testing in the plant.

　　Conduct emergency testing required in the main lab regarding customer complaints and customer technical issues.

　　Develop new analytical testing procedures.

　　Assist in the training of laboratory technicians.

　　Manage the inventory of laboratory consumables and equipment.
