[Under the supervision of the Director of Planning, the employee performs standard to moderately difficult tasks to support planning activities, review development related plans for compliance with City regulations as well as disseminate information and assist the public in planning and zoning related matters. The employee exercises independent judgment in assembling and analyzing planning data and preparing reports and illustrations. Receives and processes applications for zoning changes and subdivisions.
Responds to customer and public inquiries; provides information to the public regarding planning and zoning related information and requirements.
Explains and interprets codes, policies, standards, fees, and procedures; and generates and transmits requested reports.
Gathers and presents data in written and graphic format for use by the Planning and Zoning staff.
Reads and interprets buildings plans, site plans and other relates maps or plans for compliance with City regulations.
Processes applications for City regulation compliance.
Prepares letters, memoranda, and other correspondence.
Prepares information for the City Council and City staff.
Coordinates planning meetings and agendas.
Routes subdivisions and zoning changes to Geographic Information System (GIS) Technician.
Answers or routes questions concerning zoning ordinance or subdivision regulations to the appropriate Manager.
Prepares agenda packets for Board of Zoning Adjustment.
Schedules and attends Board of Zoning Adjustment meetings.
Prepares maps as needed.
Conducts research for various planning projects.
Creates, updates, and maintains various databases, recordkeeping systems, and maps for projects.
Develops and maintains automated tracking systems, hard copy files and records.
