　　The University of Chicago\'s Department of Radiation and CellularOncology is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank.Appointees should be physician scientists with clinical training inradiation oncology. If appropriate, joint appointments will be availablewith other academic departments and units including the Ben MayDepartment for Cancer Research, the Committee on Cancer Biology, and theUniversity of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center. Academicrank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits)are dependent upon qualifications.

　　The appointees will be provided a competitive start-up package andprotected research time. Competitive research space and start-up fundingwill be available, as will the potential for interactions with ouraffiliates, Argonne National Laboratory and the Marine BiologicalLaboratory.

　　Appointees will perform translational and/or basic research as appliedto cancer and/or radiation oncology, an integral part of this position.Some areas of research in the department focus on molecular aspects ofradioresistance, DNA repair, biological response modifiers, mechanismsof metastasis, and immune-oncology in combination with radiotherapy. Theappointees will also perform longitudinal radiation oncology treatmentto cancer patients, often in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team.Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees.

　　Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have amedical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medicallicensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified oreligible.
