$500 sign on bonus ($250 at the completion of first week of training and $250 after successful completion of first 90 days)
Position: Community Mental Health Ambassador
Location: Springfield, MA
Rate of Pay: $19.55 ; plus $40 bi-weekly stipend for second language
Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm with flexibility for occasional nights and weekends
Summary:
This position is part of the team for local sites of the MOMS Partnership®, a program that brings mental health within reach of over-burdened, under-resourced mothers. Responsibilities include co-facilitating MOMS groups and the ability to deliver the MOMS coaching intervention services as applicable. This position requires the capability to serve as a liaison between mental health/social services and the community in order to facilitate access to services and to improve the quality and cultural competence of services delivered to mothers. Provide culturally-informed, gender-responsive, and trauma-informed outreach, information, education and mental health care in community-based settings. Receive training in the MOMS Partnership model and intervention, then co-lead MOMS groups—which are classes designed to help mothers build stress management skills and achieve reduced depressive symptoms—alongside a clinician. Qualifications:
High School/GED
Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and a reliable vehicle
Requirements:
Knowledge and familiarity with local neighborhoods and other cultural competence
Ability to work with diverse populations
Ability to relate to MOMS participants on the basis of shared living experience
Ability to be a role model and support the needs of program participants
Proficient experience with computers to include Microsoft Word, data entry, email, and internet is essential
Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently is preferred.
