　　Position Summary:

　　Collects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory.Fills in as needed in the department.Functions as one of the department's primary contacts with patients.Assists with clerical duties.

　　Essential Functions:

　　Performs phlebotomies.

　　Performs laboratory Information System functions.

　　Maintains a clean work area and proper stock on supplies.

　　Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients, utilizing appropriate polices and procedures.

　　Performs clerical duties.

　　Reports to: Phlebotomist Supervisor

　　Required SkillsCertifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days

　　Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

　　Required SkillsFormal phlebotomy training preferred.

　　Must be employed with RGH as a Phlebotomist for 1 yearComplete "Dermal Puncture and Capillary Blood Collection" course in MediaLabNo written or corrective action for performance or attendance/tardy for the past 6 months
