Description:

　　Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist performs a variety of technical and clerical duties allowable by law, while maintaining a favorable image of the pharmacy within the hospital and in the community. This position will be working in an outpatient clinic setting.

　　RESPONSIBILITIES

　　Answers phones for the pharmacy department and directs calls to appropriate personnel

　　Prepackages, prepares, labels and hands out prescriptions after they are checked by a registered pharmacist

　　Stocks inventory in Pharmacy

　　Routinely checks and removes outdated and expired medications

　　Delivers medications to patient care and ancillary areas and picks up new orders as scheduled

　　Files prescriptions and reports

　　Maintains the pharmacy in a clean and organized fashion

　　Enters outpatient prescriptions

　　Obtains and records patient drug histories

　　Triages orders, determines priorities, processes orders and notifies the pharmacist as appropriate

　　Performs various calculations to determine the correct dose using weight

　　Identifies the appropriate product to process based on the prescription order

　　Uses appropriate pharmaceutical-medical terms, abbreviations and symbols

　　Maintains a working knowledge of general chemical and physical properties of drugs

　　Assist with other duties as assigned but only after appropriate training

　　Additional Skills & Qualifications:

　　-High school diploma or equivalent

　　-6+ months pharmacy experience preferred

　　-Spanish speaking strongly preferred

　　Required License/Certifications:

　　Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with state of MNDiversity, Equity & Inclusion
