Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.Shift7on/7off; Saturday through Friday. Weekend shifts: 7:30 am - 6:00 pm; weekday shifts: 10:00 am - 10:30 pm. Requires some holidays in order to meet departmental needs.Job SummaryUK HealthCare is seeking a highly-motivated pharmacist for a clinical pharmacist position with a surgical/critical care and perioperative focus at UK HealthCare in Lexington, Kentucky. The surgery pharmacy team covers trauma, emergency general, vascular, colorectal, thoracic, oncology, plastics, urology, otolaryngology, and orthopedic surgery service lines. The clinical pharmacist will provide decentralized patient care to patients admitted to the various surgical teams and perioperative areas. The pharmacist makes clinical interventions in terms of patient education, clinical pharmacokinetic and anti-coagulation monitoring, perioperative medication review, drug information, cost-effective care analysis, direct patient care, and interacting with pharmacy residents and students. The ideal candidate will have graduated from an ACPE-accredited school/college of pharmacy, completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency (or equivalent experience) at a minimum and must be eligible for licensure in Kentucky. Board certification in pharmacotherapy or critical care (or board eligibility) is preferred.The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum salary for this position will now be $114,697/year. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesStrong clinical skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; team mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
