　　Responsibilities

　　The Department of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine at Mayo Clinic in La Crosse, WI, is seeking a board certified/board eligible Pediatrician to join a physician-led organization in a community practice. The ideal candidate will join a team of experienced pediatric hospitalists plus a team of outpatient pediatricians, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and an on-staff Neonatologist.

　　The scope of the inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist duties include:

　　Direct care of neonatal patients aged 0 to 44 weeks post menstrual age within the hospital

　　Consultations with colleagues on patients aged 0 to 18 years from within the region (clinic or hospital-based)

　　Inpatient consults as requested

　　Collaboration with Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, as needed

　　Precepting and direct teaching of residents and other trainees, as re: Research and other academic pursuits

　　Citizenship and advancement of the inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist practice

　　A full-time (1.0 FTE) inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist position consists of 1,932 clinical shift hours per year. The standard shift is 7 days x 24 hours per day and hospitalists are scheduled for 1 of these 7 x 24 shift blocks each month. In addition, hospitalists have the option to work additional shifts above and beyond the 7 days per month.
