The Cadence AWR group is looking for a qualified individual who can provide PDK development and support for AWR Microwave Office and Virtuoso design tools, focusing primarily on RF/Microwave processes, tools, and flows. As a PDK developer, you will join a team of engineers responsible for enabling integrated circuit designers to create ICs targeted for various semiconductor foundries using AWR Microwave Office and Virtuoso IC design platforms. You will work directly with AE's, foundry partners, and customers to provide support and ensure their success.
Job Responsibilities:
Create, enhance, and support process design kits (PDKs) that can be used in both Microwave Office and Virtuoso tools
Support and enable RFIC design flows utilizing a variety Cadence tools, including Microwave Office, Virtuoso, Clarity, Analyst, AXIEM, EMX, and Celsius
Translate/implement device models in C++
C++ development on both Windows and Linux platforms
Implement/enhance parameterized cells (PCells) in C++ and SKILL
Develop test and automation scripts in Python, VB, SKILL, and Unix/Linux shell scripting
Work directly with engineers from our foundry partners to define PDK specifications, requirements, and deliverables
Create documentation and provide training and support for customers (both end users and PDK developers)
Thoroughly test and validate PDKs before delivering to customers
Essential Qualifications For This Role:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (Master's degree a plus)
3+ years of PDK development or EDA experience using AWR Microwave Office. Virtuoso, or similar tools
Solid understanding of the IC design process, including schematic capture, simulation, layout, physical verification, and tapeout
Excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
Organization, attention to detail, and dedication to quality are crucial
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
C++ development
SKILL, Python programming, and Unix shell scripting
Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and CMake
Revision control software (e.g. GitHub, Subversion)
Electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools such as Clarity, AXIEM, Analyst, EMX
Physical verification tools and rule decks (PVS, Pegasus, Assura)
The annual salary range for Colorado is $87,500 to $162,500. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
