Description
JOB DECSRIPTION: Performs advanced and time intensive scheduling tasks to support complex surgeries and/or imaging and procedures outside of current clinic such as hospital or OP radiology center.
To be defined as advanced and time intensive, 75% or more of the employee's time must be spent completing all three of the below scheduling tasks:
o Cases performed in an ambulatory surgery center or inpatient setting
o Coordination of multiple specialties
o Coordination of pre-operation and post-operation testing/clearance
May also perform the following:
o Coordination of complex, sequential treatment appointments including clinical trials and standard of care patients
o Coordination of transplant related work up and evaluations for donors and patients
Serves as the primary point of care for these patients and their families. Additional duties may include:
o Scheduling return visits
o Scheduling ancillary appointments
o Registering or scheduling new patients
o Scheduling imaging and procedures within their local clinic
o Completing patient data forms
o Coordinating provider referrals
o Retrieving medical records
Acts as an administrative resource for all staff in the coordination of a patient's care
Works collaboratively with management to remedy or escalate patient complaints
Covers for front desk and other back-office staff as needed
Provides support for the training of new PCCs and other administrative staff as needed
Completes precertification authorizations as required
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED required; 6 months of healthcare scheduling experience is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
