What You Can Expect
The Payroll Team Lead has overall responsibility for processing end to end payroll direct and indirect across multiple shift patterns for the ZOML sites.
This role will be the system owner for payroll related systems including, payroll system, time and attendance system, relevant elements of Success Factors. The role will involve a significant amount of interaction with both external third parties and internal groups including system vendors and external payroll vendor.
How You'll Create Impact
Management of all payroll functions and activities. Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in adherence with all applicable deadlines (payments, statutory returns, journals etc)
Process and review hours from time and attendance system for direct employees to ensure accuracy of payments to ZOML employees.
Preparation of bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly paid employees, associated administration and liaising with external third parties associated with the processing of ZOML payroll.
Administration of benefit in kind, pension deductions, pay increases, bonus, overtime and any other payroll deductions or payroll recoups.
Preparation of Payroll updates including for example, social welfare, educational assistance, employee referral bonuses, bike to work, pension, Ignite, PB salary increase, leavers.
Give guidance to internal stakeholders on improvements in process to help ensure a smooth and accurate payroll process.
Ensure company compliance in relation to all aspects of payroll e.g. statutory deductions taxes, and social charges and other relevant deductions.
Deal with payroll queries on pay, tax and PRSI deductions, hours worked, pension, holidays, and other benefits from employees/managers.
Support the month end close process – Journals and Balance Sheet Reconciliations for Payroll & Overhead accruals.
Administer shadow payroll for relevant parties.
Other Statutory Returns for the business including CSO, IDA.
Liaise with internal, corporate and external stakeholders.
Preparation of payroll and payroll related activities for audits both internal & externa
Preparation of reports for the wider business as required ie Overtime/Spends
Systems and Process
Internal system owner for internal payroll systems including Payroll System, Time and Attendance System and relevant elements of Success Factors.
Act as internal owner for ZOML with external payroll vendor
Work with system vendors on improvements to automate and streamline processes.
Actively seek to implement continuous improvement in area of responsibility for payroll process and related systems and/or alternative solutions.
Eliminate duplication in processes and propose solutions.
Ensure interfaces across the various systems are correct and a streamlined as possible.

What Makes You Stand Out
Experience in a similarly sized payroll and knowledge of Tax, PRSI, USC, compensation and benefits, protective leave, bonus, pensions etc. is a distinct advantage
IPASS Qualification preferable
3rd level degree in Business or a Finance related field.
Excellent IT skills, in particular Excel
Knowledge of T&A Systems and payroll systems
Knowledge of ERP systems preferable.
Metrics and Continuous improvement experience
Excellent communication and influencing skills with proven ability to deliver results in a cross-function team-based environment
Proven experience and knowledge of process improvements with the use of lean tools
Your Background
High attention to detail is a pre-requisite with high levels of accuracy and the ability to see numerical errors.
Excellent time-management and planning skills are required as well as the ability to manage deadlines given the nature of the role.
Strong communication skills as there will be interactions with staff, management and external stakeholders
Strong systems aptitude and ability to understand systems and share knowledge with other stakeholders.
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
Confidentiality and discretion are core to this role.
Strong analytical and numerical ability.
Good knowledge of Irish payroll including statutory payments and pension plans.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on your own initiative and performwell under pressure with tight deadlines.
