Robert Half has a new direct hire opportunity for a Payroll Specialist based in Columbia, Maryland. We are seeking a Payroll Specialist who will play a critical role in managing payroll and some operational accounting tasks, including accounts payable. Responsibilities:

• Execute full-cycle payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Handle multi-state payroll, adhering to respective state laws and regulations.

• Oversee multiple payroll cycles including monthly and semi-monthly payrolls.

• Manage Accounts Payable tasks as required.

• Contribute to the management and resolution of payroll-related inquiries.

• Assist in streamlining and improving payroll processes.

• Handle the integration of payroll matters for newly acquired companies.

• Ensure the confidentiality and security of payroll information.

• Actively participate in the growth and expansion of the company by potentially overseeing a team in the future.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Paylocity software is highly preferred for efficient payroll management

• Ability to handle full cycle payroll operations to ensure smooth financial transactions

• Skill in processing payroll is essential for accurate and timely payment to employees

• Knowledge of multi-state payroll is necessary to manage payments for employees in different states

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is crucial for managing outgoing payments to external partners
