Description
We are currently seeking a Payroll Accountant. This position involves handling confidential payroll-related transactions in the general ledger, including labor distribution, reconciliation of employee benefits with vendor invoices, and the preparation of reports and spreadsheets for the budget process and financial statement preparation. The successful candidate will play a key role in processing semi-monthly payroll, which includes reviewing timecards, resolving payroll discrepancies, maintaining the ADP system, and providing excellent customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and record all payroll-related transactions in the general ledger, such as labor distribution, and maintain payroll-related schedules in Excel.
Generate confidential reports and spreadsheets using ADP report function and Excel for the budget process, financial reports, and as required.
Review personnel activity timecards confidentially to ensure accuracy and compliance with funders' terms and conditions.
Reconcile the payroll general ledger account.
Manage and reconcile benefit premium payments for employees on leave of absence.
Reconcile employee benefits in ADP payroll with vendor invoices.
Handle system maintenance for ADP WorkForce Now and Time & Attendance.
Act as a confidential backup person to assist with processing semi-monthly payroll for 500+ employees, performing manual paycheck and accrual calculations, maintaining and processing employee garnishments, and reviewing confidential payroll transactions and timecards.
Reconcile sick and vacation accrual balances.
Rrain supervisors on Time & Attendance and payroll policies.
Partner with Human Resources Staff to coordinate any employee-related issues that impact payroll processing.
Perform other confidential duties as assigned to ensure department objectives are met.
