About Payroll Manager

Description

We are looking to add a Payroll Manager to our team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. The chosen candidate will oversee various payroll cycles for different aspects of the business. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage multiple payroll cycles for different business aspects.

• Assist with off-cycle payrolls that are run on a daily basis.

• Provide ad hoc support to the broader payroll department on project work, focusing on process improvements.

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of payroll reports.

• Assist the payroll systems team with routine reporting tasks, with a heavy reliance on Excel.

• Work effectively with multiple systems and Excel.

• Gain quick understanding and execution of complex payroll processes.

• Provide experience with union processing payroll when necessary.

• Demonstrate the ability to process payroll in-house.

• Display a utility player mentality, being flexible and adaptable to various tasks within the role.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a payroll management role

• Competency in Data Processing

• Ability to administer 401k - RRSP

• Familiarity with UKG Pro software

• Solid understanding of Accounting Functions

• Knowledge of Compliance regulations related to payroll

• Experience in managing Multi-state Payroll

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Proven track record of managing a team

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work

• Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) would be an advantage.
