About Payroll Coord

Description We are in the Energy/Natural Resources sector, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and we are currently looking for a Payroll Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance, and handling various payroll-related inquiries. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles for various personnel types

• Ensure accurate import of hours worked from the accounting system into the payroll system

• Verify and analyze employee payroll including pay correction, status changes, special rates, and insurance premiums

• Oversee time banks, sick leave banks, and floating vacations

• Manage vacation pay and salary input effectively

• Ensure timely payroll transmissions always

• Coordinate with accounting department for payroll accounting entries

• Maintain and update employment records

• Handle inquiries related to employment insurance

• Participate in compliance management and auditing processes

• Serve as the main contact for all payroll-related matters

• Manage yearly compliance processes including preparation of year-end reports

• Process check requisitions for pension plans, union dues, etc.

• Complete reports for Statistics Canada

• Maintain and file all payroll-related documents. Requirements • Proficiency in payroll functions, including processing, auditing, and compliance.

• Expertise in accounting functions, specifically accounting entries and month-end reports.

• Knowledge of insurance policies and pension plans, particularly as they relate to payroll.

• Ability to handle documentation and requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Familiarity with compliance management, including Sarbanes Oxley 404 Compliance.

• Experience in auditing, specifically in the context of payroll and accounting.

• Understanding of salary structures and union dues.

• Proficiency in using "About Time" software for time tracking and management.

• Ability to answer queries and provide information related to payroll and accounting functions.

• Knowledge of statistics, particularly as they apply to payroll and accounting.

• Experience in QA management to ensure the quality of payroll procedures.

• Familiarity with CSST (Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail) regulations.

• Understanding of floating, particularly in the context of payroll and labor laws.
