Description

Key Responsibilities:

Data Entry Record Maintenance

Enter, update, and verify payroll data in systems, including employee information, work hours, deductions, and salaries (Source: Corporate Payroll).

Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Payroll Processing

Process payroll on a regular schedule (e.g., bi-weekly or monthly), ensuring timely payments to employees (Source: Corporate Payroll).

Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, taxes, and bonuses accurately.

Handle manual checks as needed in special cases.

Issue Resolution

Address questions, discrepancies, and concerns regarding employee paychecks, deductions, or taxes in a timely and professional manner (Source: Corporate Contact List).

Work closely with HR and Corporate Payroll teams for issue resolution.

Compliance Documentation

Comply with federal, state, and local employment laws governing payroll processing and taxation (Source: Corporate Tax).

Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, auditing for discrepancies or errors.

Maintain confidentiality and security of employee records.

Support Functions

Assist in year-end reporting tasks, including W-2s, tax audits, and other payroll-related documentation (Source: Corporate Accounting).

Provide payroll data as requested by corporate accounting or HR departments.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

Education Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent; advanced certifications in payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional or Fundamental Payroll Certification) preferred.

Experience: Previous experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role preferred. Experience with payroll and accounting software is a plus.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Familiarity with payroll software/tools such as ADP, SAP, or QuickBooks is often required (Source: Corporate Technology Standards).

Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.

Effective problem-solving and customer service abilities.

Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Other Desired Skills: Thorough understanding of labor laws, wage-and-hour regulations, and tax regulations.
