A Payroll Clerk position has become available through Robert Half at a flourishing company seeking a highly-organized individual. Daily operations will consist of data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution, and providing statements to various departments. This vacancy is based in the Lansing, Michigan area and is a permanent opportunity. The right candidate must possess excellent communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with both the internal team and external customers.

Responsibilities

Complete other duties as assigned

Ensure efficient operation of the department by performing clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc.

Arrange data into spreadsheets and the payroll system

Instruct and train employees in the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

Collect and organize timesheet approvals by contacting employees via email and phone

Be able to create and run custom reports

Administer reports as instructed and make them easily accessible by distributing them

Requirements - Payroll software experience preferred

Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Experience with high volume data entry

Previous payroll experience

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Well-founded grasp of Accounts Payable (AP)

UKG Pro experience desired

General familiarity with Deductions

Foundational knowledge in Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)

Proven knowledge of Process Payroll

Strong familiarity with Automated Payroll

Experience with payroll systems for 100-500 employees

Benefits payroll experience

Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills

Proven ability to quickly learn new systems
