About Payroll Clerk

  Summary:

  The Payroll Clerk will ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation. This position is responsible for various payroll-related tasks, including data entry, record maintenance, and compliance with payroll regulations.

  Qualifications and Experience:

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  Payroll Processing:

  Accurately calculates and processes employee wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductionsVerifies and reconciles timesheets and attendance recordsProcesses and distributes paychecks or direct deposits on timeData Entry and Record Keeping:

  Serves as a point of contact for employee queries concerning their personal information, tax withholdings, and banking details within the payroll systemMaintains electronic and physical payroll records in compliance with data retention policiesPrepare and maintains accurate payroll reports as needed401k Benefits Administration:

  Administers 401(k) benefits program, including enrollment, contribution processing, and coordination with external plan providersConducts reconciliation of the 401(k) account in collaboration with VanGuardCustomer Service:

  Addresses employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and tax mattersProvides excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll-related questions or concernsProcess Improvement:

  Suggests and implements process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracyStays up-to-date with payroll industry trends and best practicesOther duties as necessary may include but are not limited to:

  Successfully completes assigned training and examinations, as well as participate in ongoing performance and development reviews, and goal settingBe available to participate in internal or external meetings, special functions, and professional development opportunitiesCross-trains and share knowledge with other team membersSupports routine tasksMaintains a professional appearance, hygiene, and demeanorCollaborates with cross-functional teams within the organization to support Finance initiativesAs Part of Our team, You'll Enjoy:

  All new employees will participate in the mandatory 'Speedway to Success' (Speedway) orientation at one our offices located in either Tehachapi, CA, Yuba City, CA, or South San Francisco, CA. The duration of the Speedway program spans from 1-3 weeks, depending on the position. During Speedway the schedule will vary: 8-hour days are planned, but shorter days may occur depending on the groups pace. Applicants further than 50 miles from these training locations will be provided with necessary travel accommodations as part of the onboarding process. Applicants 50 miles or less from these locations will be considered regular commute. For those working remotely, virtual attendance will depend on position requirements. Further details will be provided to you during the interview process, and before your start date.
