　　Position Purpose:

　　The Patient Access Supervisor has day to day operational supervisory responsibility for admitting and registration functions including inpatient, outpatient, emergency department (ED), same day surgery (SDS) services, Forest Park Registration and Radiology scheduling. This involves direct supervision of all Patient Access Representatives in the ED, Central Admitting/Registration, Radiology Scheduling and Forest Park.

　　What you will Do:

　　--Completes and/or reviews monthly schedule for all Patient Access Staff.

　　--Performs time and attendance functions, and reviews schedule updates to adjust for peak activity, vacations, and other personnel fluctuations.

　　--Informs staff of changes in procedures via huddles, meetings, memos, e-mail, and departmental policy manual.

　　--Updates and maintains current policy manual, Core Competency Plan, Quality Plans, and CBO manual for the Patient Access department.

　　--Interviews, hires, and coordinates training for new employees in the areas directly supervised.

　　Minimum Qualifications:

　　Education:

　　Four-year college degree preferred with emphasis on business/health care administration.

　　Experience:

　　-Three years of experience in a medical business office or combination of educations and experience required.

　　-Previous supervisory experience preferred.

　　--Must have above average written and verbal communication skills and be able to exercise judgment and tact in dealing with and motivating people.

　　--Must have a good general knowledge of computer capabilities and specific knowledge of personal computers using windows, spreadsheets, and word processing.

　　--Average proficiency on all office machines.

　　--Must be able to analyze and solve problems in a team environment.

　　--Ability to exercise caring and compassion in a competent and efficient manner regardless of a patient’s economic status, race, religion, age, sexual orientation or disability.
