Description:
Checking in patient is main responsibility- Direct patient contact
Gather demographics, take insurance, makes sure paperwork is completed. Responsible for checking insurance eligibility. Greeting patients and being a friendly face upon arrival. There is NO scheduling involved in this role!!
Need to have experience with insurance and medical. If dental office front desk, that could work too.
Can sit out of Minneapolis or St. Paul as home base. Travel is required. Needs to have availability to go to any locations.
40 hours/week. Start and end time can vary. Scheduled a month in advance. 7am-4pm. Need to be able to stay until 6pm from time to time.
They could float to every location including Minneapolis, St. Paul, Burnsville. Shakopee, buffalo, Plymouth, Woodbury, Vadnais Heights, Blain/Coon Rapids, Cambridge. Mileage is paid- Mileage is always going to be the IRS rate, which is currently $0.66/mile
Will pay all non-provider employees an extra $5.00 per hour worked at any location outside the seven county metro area. This is for hours worked only, not drive time. The locations that qualify are Cambridge, Buffalo, and Northfield.
Qualifications
High School Diploma
Customer Service, experience reading and understanding an insurance card.
Experience within the healthcare field
Work Environment
As for the hours it can vary a bit. We rotate so people don’t have the same shift all the time. We do the schedule about a month in advance though so people have an idea where they are going and the hours they will work.
Open at (Minneapolis which is the main clinic) is 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
Close at Minneapolis is 8:00 am – 4:30 pm or until the last patient leaves. On occasion this could be between 5 and 6 pm. 6 does not happen often but it has happened.
Offsite locations usually start between 7:30 and 8:00 am and stay until the last patient leaves. This is usually 4:30 but at some sites could be earlier.
Regardless, the work week is M-F and it ends up being 40 hours a week.
