Job Description:A Patient Care tech has accountability for providing care topatients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring forpatients with acute and chronic needs
Pay Range:$20.00 - $24.88
Scope
Responds to patient care needs by answering call lights, assisting patientswith hygiene care, obtaining vital signs, and communicatingconstructively, effectively and timely with members of the care team.
Performs 12-lead EKG duties commensurate with the level of training receivedand competency.
Apply, check and document restraints as directed by the RN or physician.
Performs wound care, stoma care, and specimen collection.
Performs equipment and tube care/management e.g. JPs, hemovacs andnasogastric tubes, and Foley removal.
Assists with patient transfers, admissions and discharges as directed and incompliance with the principles of safe patient handling.
Orders and maintains office and patient care floor stock/supplies.
Performs the duties of unit secretary. Maintains patient charts, responds tophone calls, maintains daily assignment board, provides equipmentcare/cleaning, performs errands associated with patient care and providesaccurate information about the patient with interdisciplinary team.
Assist physicians and RNs as directed.

Demonstrates and adheres to the standards of infection prevention.
Performs other duties as assigned.
May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competencyand qualifications) based on business need.
May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program
Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers(BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire withprior approval
Physical Requirements:Ongoing need for employee to see and readinformation, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identifyequipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient careproviders, patients, and visitors that require employee to verballycommunicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms,needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergencysituations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complexand delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequentcomputer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing neededinformation, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift andutilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend toretrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes itemsof varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk andassist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributingsupplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portableequipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded andbusy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and-May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period ofti
