With 263 rooms, 38,000 square feet of event space, and 2 restaurants plus 3 bars, this isthe new home for Washington, D.C.’s most consequential events, groundbreaking meetings, and unforgettable experiences.

  Shift: Various – must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.Union Position:This position is part of the Local 25 Union which requirescomplete open availability. We are not able to accommodate schedule restrictions and full-time hours arenotguaranteed. Hours and schedule are based on seniority and business needs and may be minimal at times until seniority is established. You must be comfortable with a schedule and hours that may vary from week to week.

  What will I be doing?

  As a Pastry Cook, you would be responsible creating, preparing, producing and baking all pastries, breads, rolls and desserts for food and beverage outlets in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  Prepare pastry food items according to designated recipes and quality standardsMaintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standardsStock, maintain and ensure proper storage and refrigeration of an adequate supply of all prepared productDevelop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus, as neededPractice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulationsDisplay and set baked products on mobile carts according to specificationsPrepare daily requisitions for supplies and food itemsWhat are we looking for?
