Position Summary:
This is an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) job opening, hiring Nurse Practitioner(s) and/or Physician Assistant(s) who will be in a family medicine setting. All applicants will be considered (new graduates and experienced).
This position will be located at 5635 W. Fort Street Detroit, MI 48209 at the CHASS Center for Henry Ford.
Advanced Practice Professional will provide family medicine health care to patients of all ages. This is a part-time position (36 hours), day shift, with weekends. The clinic has 60% Spanish speaking patients, so Spanish language proficiency is encouraged.
Duties & Responsibilities:
In collaboration with physician(s), APP will provide independent acute and/or routine medical care to a patients and families enrolled in Primary Care Medicine
Writes appropriate orders, if/when applicable
Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods
Coordinates the activities of patient care and support staff within the clinic
Writes progress notes in EMR indicating patient status and treatment procedures performed
Provides health education to patients, families, and/or community health practitioners and groups
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshop
May perform clinical research related to specific operations
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Working Conditions:
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training
GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders, and interprets tests, makes diagnoses, and institutes appropriate treatment programs. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other medical care team members to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master's degree in nursing. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Certified Nurse Practitioner. Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS or ACLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.
