Position Summary:
The President will have day-to-day managerial responsibility for the activities of the Henry Ford + MSU Health Sciences Partnership (the “Partnership”) at the direction and oversight of the Partnership Board of Directors. The President will oversee the execution of the affiliation priorities including research, clinical integration, collaboration on the development of an NCI-designated cancer center and education. The President knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of the Partnership in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions. The President also models behaviors which support continuous learning and empowerment through team leadership. This position is an additional administrative role available to a current Henry Ford or MSU employee and is intended to be 0.4 FTE effort for a term of two years.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Executes and ensures compliance with the terms of the Master Affiliation Agreement between HFH & MSU
• Oversees the activities of the Partnership to ensure achievement of the programmatic milestones and targets described in the Master Affiliation Agreement
• Collaborates with respective leaders to execute the research recruitment plan; research attribution and integration of select research programs; educational program expansion; clinical integration; and the Partnership goals on diversity, equity and inclusion
• Ensures joint DEI principles and culture are incorporated in Partnership programmatic activities
• Organizes and conducts regular Partnership Board meetings; in collaboration with chairs of the
Board’s committees, monitors committee performance and delivers regular reports to the Board on overall Partnership performance and progress
• Assists the Member Parties in nominating members for and maintaining the function of committees of the Partnership Board
• Supports and ensures the preparation of materials/reports (monthly or as needed) for presentation to the steering committee
• In collaboration with the Partnership CFO, assesses investments and budgets against approved
Partnership financial plan, approves corrective actions as warranted and oversees development of the annual budget
• Supports the cultivation and achievement of fundraising related to Partnership initiatives, consistent with the Philanthropy Coordination Agreement

Required Education/Experience:
• Advanced professional degree (MD, DO, PhD) and/or MBA, MHA
• Demonstrated record of achievement in research and academic leadership including recruitment, retention and program development
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in regulatory certification and accreditation requirements for clinical and academic
programs
• National prominence in an academic environment
• 10+ years or more of leadership experience in a complex, matrixed organization
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
