JOB REQUIREMENTS: Parks Maintenance Worker (1000 Hrs/Year April-October)Jefferson County is home to 22 county owned parks and several trails,spread-out through the County\'s 373,000 acres, for the public to enjoyas our Parks Department strives to preserve natural resources for publicuse and conservation. The Parks department operates and maintains aparks system with resource-oriented recreation, trails, and special useparks. They also expand the parks system for environmental and land usebenefits, as well as, for the health and enjoyment of Jefferson Countyresidents and others. To maintain high quality parks and facilities, thedepartment is currently hiring a Parks Maintenance Worker to performbuilding, grounds, and development tasks. As an experienced, passionate,and safety-focused individual you will be successful while completingthe below necessary tasks: Performing extensive vegetative managementthroughout the parks system including mowing, weed whipping, chemicaland weed spraying, brush and shrub trimming, tree trimming and felling,prairie restoration, hazard identification, tree planting, prairieburns, invasive species control, landscape development and construction,grass seeding and mulching, and stump removal Providing janitorialservices including cleaning and stocking restrooms, taking out trash,cleanup after special events and rentals. Operating vehicles and poweredequipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chain saws,electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws Scheduling maintenanceand routine repairs on lawn mowers, trucks, and other equipmentAssembling, installing, and inspecting outdoor equipment includingplayground equipment, picnic tables, park shelters, and other parkamenities Mixing, spraying, and spreading fertilizers, herbicides,and/or insecticides on grass, shrubs, and trees Providing proper upkeepof sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and othergrounds features Cleaning maintenance equipment and buildings *****OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: High schooldiploma or equivalent Knowledge of recreation management, building andgrounds maintenance, equipment operation, or any equivalent combinationof education and experience Valid driver\'s license *****APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online:https://apps.jeffersoncountywi.gov/jc/job/detail/1369_Park%20Maintenance%20Worker%20Seasonal
