In addition, the paramedic assists with other services and events as directed by North Memorial Ambulance Service. Requirements Education * Successfully completed paramedic training program from an accredited institution required. * Associate of Science degree preferred. Experience Experience * Previous ambulance experience preferred. * Previous advanced life support experience preferred. * For Air Care Paramedics, three (3) years of ALS experience as a Paramedic required. * For Air Care Paramedics, prior flight experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Demonstrated ability to organize, problem solve, make decisions during emergency situations and work independently. * Possess or quickly acquire knowledge of the street and highway system within the service area. Licensure/Certification Ground Paramed c Requirements * Current Minnesota or Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. * American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or Amercian Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. * Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record. * American Heart Association or American Red Cross PALS Certification. * ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. Air Care Paramedic Requirements * Current Minnesota Paramedic Certification or obtain within 60 days of hire date. * Current Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date. * National Registered Paramedic. * American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or American Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. * Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) within 12 months from date of hire. * American Heart Association and American Red Cross PALS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. * ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. * Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date. * Maximum weight of 215 pounds in uniform. * Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record.
