  May: Weekends only

  Memorial Day - Mid August: Approximately 20-30 hours/week., schedules vary weekly.

  Overview:

  Under the general supervision of the Paddleboat Coordinator, the Paddleboat Attendant position is responsible for the day-to-day Paddleboat operation. Major duties include money handling, customer inquiries, assisting patrons on and off the paddleboats and paddleboat care.

  Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  Provide an exceptional customer service experience through assisting customers on the phone and in person with all Paddleboat processes and questions. Respond quickly to phone calls and any customer complaints or inquiries.

  Successfully operate POS computer software in order to assist customers.

  Ensure confidential use of customer information, including credit card transactions.

  Assist customers with and complete all necessary phases of point of sale transactions.

  Successfully balance receipts, reconcile transactions and prepare daily bank deposits.

  Handle cash and report computer concerns. Follow all park district policies related to proper cash handling procedures including balancing cash and preparing appropriate reports (i.e., daily cash statements, receipts, and deposits).

  Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment. Report needed items to Coordinator

  Assist patrons on and off the paddleboats

  Clean paddleboats and dock areas daily.

  Ensure public safety by monitoring paddleboats and all areas in the direct vicinity.

  Respond appropriately to emergencies inside the facilities and surrounding area.

  Maintain safe, clean and friendly environment for guests, co-workers and the general public.

  Maintain a proactive approach to safety and risk management. Report all accidents, incidents and unsafe conditions in a timely manner. Assist with annual loss control review process, aquatic audits and required health department inspections.

  Demonstrate and support park district customer service standards.

  Perform daily inspections of paddleboats and report all needed repairs to the Coordinator.

  Follow and model compliance with all District, State, Federal and departmental safety and risk management, personnel, administrative policies and procedures, ordinances and regulations.

  Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  Perform general maintenance of paddleboats and dock.

  Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  Attend bi-monthly emergency procedure training as scheduled.

  General knowledge of emergency and water safety procedures.

  Demonstrate excellent customer service and leadership skills.

  Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns as needed.

  Education and Experience:

  One (1) year of experience in customer service or related field preferred.Special Considerations:

  Subject to modified/flexible work schedule.

  Subject to outside environmental conditions.

  Ability to occasionally lift light weight (20 lbs.) objects.
