Packaging Equipment MechanicShift hours are 7am to 330pm Monday through Friday.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of packaging machinery, including fillers, sealers, labelers, and conveyors. Ensure that equipment operates efficiently and safely.Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues with packaging equipment. Identify root causes of malfunctions and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.Preventive Maintenance: Develop and follow a structured preventive maintenance schedule for all packaging machinery. Replace worn components, lubricate parts, and perform necessary adjustments to extend equipment lifespan.Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to breakdowns and equipment failures to minimize production interruptions. Prioritize and execute repairs efficiently to restore operations.Quality and Safety: Ensure that packaging machinery meets quality and safety standards. Collaborate with quality control and safety teams to address any concerns and implement improvements.6Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts replacements. Update equipment logs and contribute to a comprehensive maintenance history.Spare Parts Management: Keep an inventory of critical spare parts and components for packaging equipment. Work with procurement to ensure timely availability of necessary parts.Training and Support: Provide training to production operators on the safe and effective operation of packaging machinery. Offer technical support and guidance to operators during production runs.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement improvements.1Equipment Upgrades: Participate in equipment modification and upgrade projects. Install new components or systems to improve packaging processes.1Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, regulations, and company policies. Ensure that packaging machinery meets industry standards and regulations.Qualifications and SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in mechanical or electrical fields is preferred.Proven experience as a packaging equipment mechanic or similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.Familiarity with various types of packaging equipment and their components.Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and basic understanding of automation systems.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance.Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.Physical ability to lift heavy components and work in various conditions.Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.iSpice Foods is an equal opportunity employer.
