  Special note: This is a OPS Part-time position. This position will work approximately 16 hours per week.

  Your Specific Responsibilities:

  Performs venipuncture techniques for the collection of blood specimens, collect and process various body fluids or samples for laboratory testing, explain proper specimen collection to patients. Perform daily / weekly start up and shut down of laboratory, documenting controls and temperatures. IN take Laboratory Patients for testing and results while managing clinic flow. Perform Clia Waive testing, Rotate and stocking laboratory supplies per expiration dates, inform supervisor of all laboratory discrepancy. Ensure the cleanliness of Laboratory and proper use of Occupational Safety and Biohazard equipment. Responsible for ordering lab test in FDOH data system (HMS), processing and shipping specimens. Maintain and audit of laboratory logs and manifest. Communicate with staff and reference laboratories.

  Document in FDOH HMS, EHR, People First, and Train. Attend all mandatory training and staff meetings.

  Maintains client confidentiality and security in accordance with DOHP50-10-16 Information Security & Privacy Policy. Authorized access to designated secure area(s) 9File Room) granted by prox or key.

  Preform other duties as needed for the agency.

  Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  Knowledge of phlebotomy

  Qualifications:

  Minimum :

  Certified phlebotomist

  Florida Department of Health is required to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an

  emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter or performing other emergency duties

  including but not limited to, response to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster man-made or natural.

  Preferred

  Experience in phlebotomy, using both venipunctures evacuated system and butterfly method

  One year experience in phlebotomy

  Experience drawing pediatric (children)

  Experience /knowledge of Laboratory Biohazard

  Experience /knowledge of Laboratory Biohazard

  Experience in specimen processing and shipping

  Experience performing CLIA Waive Rapid testing.
