Job Description:

Excavates materials to dimensions as specified by construction drawings, sketches, grade markers, and verbal instructions. Manages stockpiles. Performs backfilling and grading operations to specified grades for landscaping, haul roads, and other purposes. Loads trucks with excavated soils or building materials such as stone, aggregate, or asphalt. Performs other duties as required. Inspects, greases, fuels, and cleans heavy equipment daily. Performs other maintenance per schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

No Degree Required. 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Must be able to operate Excavator, Loader, Forklift, Dozer, roller

Skills and Abilities:

Basic ability to read and follow engineering drawings and blue prints. Intermediate ability to judge distances and slopes accurately. Basic writing and reading skills. Basic mathematics ability.

CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as “CDM Smith”) reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. Additional Compensation:

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.

Work Location Options:

Successful candidate will be required to work 100% in the field locations.

Heavy equipment operation and proper licensing to operate heavy equipment is a requirement of the position.
