Howden South Africa is currently looking for an experienced Operations Manager to be responsible for the quality, quantity, efficiency and timeous delivery of maintenance and installation projects at various Customer sites. Build a strong, skilled site team and proper management thereof.
What needs to be done?
Control quality of work performed on all sites including data work management.
Ensure site work carried out is completed within times laid down by customers.
Control Howden labour costs on site by comparing money spent on labour vs. tender costs.
Coordinate the delivery of spares from site.
Purchase and management of consumables and tools for site.
Ensure pre-outage inspections and reports after outage are compiled.
Compile and review of final reports after completion of work.
Negotiate with labour brokers for labour requirements on various sites.
Stay in constant contact with customers to resolve any arising problems related to labour.
Implement EHS processes and procedures for sites and ensure they are followed through.
Determine and allocate tools and people when new site projects start.
Management of performance and training development of associates.
Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls.
What do you need to bring?
Grade 12/ Matric.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Advance Project Management qualification
5- 10 years experience in mining and industrial sales and services.
Exposure to heavy engineering.
Good communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to deliver sound solutions.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft programs: MS Excel, MS Projects.
Extensive costing knowledge.
Extensive working knowledge of contracts, preferably NEC and FIDIC yellow book.
