  Job Description Summary

  The 2nd Shift Operations Leader will serve as a key leader of an exciting manufacturing team in our Gas Power Schenectady facility. This is a core manufacturing leadership position responsible for the delivery of Onshore Wind Turbine equipment to a global customer base in a critical time for GE Vernova.

  The Operations Leader will lead and supervise a 2nd shift team of hourly production workers as well as technicians in the successful execution of safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate the ability to solve technical issues, balance multiple complex priorities and effectively motivate a diverse, high performing team.

  Job Description

  Responsibilities:

  Responsible for departmental operations planning, execution, oversight, and management of front-line manufacturing employees.

  Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.

  Applies Lean Manufacturing principles to drive consistent output and process improvements.

  Presents to internal teams on critical metrics, project status and planning details.

  Creates an environment of respect and trust among the team and ensures open lines of communication for the identification and resolution of both technical and personnel issues.

  Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and a mentor for production team.

  Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

  Requirements:

  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum 4 years manufacturing experience)

  2 years of manufacturing or warehouse experience.

  Eligibility Requirements:

  Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.

  This position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NY.

  Ability and willingness to work the off-shift / 2nd shift (3PM – 11PM). Night-shift differential added to base salary pay (10% additional).

  Desired Characteristics

  Engineering or Management Degree.

  Leadership or Influencing experience.

  Experience working in a Union environment.

  Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.

  Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.

  Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

  Established project management skills.

  The base pay range for this position is $72k - $89k USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 5 % variable incentive compensation and 10% Night Shift Differential.

  This posting is expected to close on 2/23/2023 or when suitable candidate identified.

  *The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
