  Alliance Cancer Specialists, the most extensive community-based oncology practice in Southeastern PA, is growing our Clinical team! We are seeking an Oncology Physician Assistant. The perfect candidate will be a compassionate, detail-oriented individual excited to join our hardworking team here at Alliance.   No weekends or major holidays.Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

  Responsibilities

  Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.Performs procedures with minimal supervision.Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.Likely to provide case management for patients and their families.Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.May promote/provide staff educationResponsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour callsMay mentor new advanced practice providersMay precept APP studentsOther duties as assigned

  Qualifications

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty.Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state.Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.Experience in Gynocology, Oncology and Surgical Support is a must to be considered for this role.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.  Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.  Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential fu ctions.  Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
