Ensuring Chart’s Success…
The Buyer will work with the Supply Chain team to optimize supplier costs, quality, and delivery to gain the lowest cost through the supply chain in support of strategic plans. This role is in the Ball Ground, Georgia facility.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
Research products and engage with vendors to obtain the best price with considerations of quality, reliability, and urgency of need
Prepare purchase orders and place orders, including tracking back orders
Participate in creating and implementing programs to optimize inventory turns and improve working capital performance
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all inventory and supplier related data
Improve and maintain on-time delivery from vendors
Help identify and resolve process and system roadblocks in conjunction with manufacturing, engineering and quality to improve productivity and throughput
Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
Arrange for disposal of surplus materials
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Your Education Should Be…
Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university or 6 years of relevant experience
C.P.M., CPSM or CPIM certification preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
Minimum of 2 years of materials management experience working in a manufacturing environment
Supply-base experience focused on improvements to quality, cost, and delivery
Experience with JDE ERP software, highly desirable
Knowledge of accounting and cost systems as well as computerized systems (software and hardware), a plus
Experience with ISO 9000, Kanban and lean manufacturing environment, a plus
