Office Manager - Workforce Development
Job Description:
The Workforce Office Manager position functions as the principal administrative support for the Workforce Department including the offices of Adult Education, Workforce, Community and Economic Development within Hinds Community College.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

The Workforce Office Manager position functions as the principal administrative support for the Workforce Department including the offices of Adult Education, Workforce, Community and Economic Development within Hinds Community College.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree accepted, at least three years’ experience in an administrative role in a community college environment. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. Working knowledge of Hinds systems Workday, Canvas, and Colleague.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES , include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Provide administrative support to the division by developing, editing, and distributing reports, presentations, and other correspondence. Ability to meet multiple deadlines for submission of reports.
Maintain and publish workforce training calendar, create courses, and schedule instructors using variety of software systems.
Create course sections for non-credit workforce training.
Strong and pleasant telephone and interpersonal skills, with the ability to professionally and courteously manage internal and external customers and co-workers on the phone and in person.
Assist VP and Directors with grant applications, performance tracking, and monitoring.
Obtain and manage departmental purchasing card and perform other purchasing activities per college guidelines, including supplies and equipment
Establish and maintain storage system for departmental records.
Maintain database/listing of Business and Industry Contacts, program and participant success stories.
Ability to keep sensitive information confidential at all times.
Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
The ability to take initiative, use good judgement, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, and carry multiple projects through to completion.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
