JOB REQUIREMENTS: Advises staff on the Admissions Unit for treatmentissues. Directs overall function of Activity Services on the AdmissionsUnit. Supervises Activity staff on the Admissions Unit. Assists inplanning and carrying out unit functions. Participate in the developmentof the budget as it pertains to Occupational Therapy and Activities andassist in monitoring compliance with the budget. Acute PsychiatricHospital Unit: Directs and maintains the Occupational Therapy andActivity program on the Admissions Unit. Complete activity assessmentand other documentation, including summaries of group and individualactivities/therapies and weekly progress notes within established timeframes, either directly or through the Therapy Assistants.Gather/record/analyze data for Quality Improvement studies, as needed.Direct the updating of the unit activity schedule, as needed.Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team. Providecontinuing education and communication to other staff relative toOccupational Therapy and Activity goals and changes. Attend TreatmentTeam staffings and consultations, as scheduled/requested. Attendrequested educational programs to keep up with current trends in thefield of Occupational Therapy. Provides in-services, as needed.***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Master of Science degreein Occupational Therapy or related degree. Completion of theOccupational Therapy training requirement and applicable registrationand licensure. Must have on-going education in caring for individualswith mental illness, keep license current and stay up-to-date with anyneeded continued educational needs. Two years of health careoccupational therapy experience required.
