Up to $2,500 sign on bonus Purpose of Job This position is responsible for providing surgical patient care and related services in the OB operating room under the supervision of the RN circulator to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment. In addition, while not functioning in the operating room, this position will be responsible for assisting nursing staff in direct and non-direct patient care functions at the direction of the professional nursing staff. Job Functions Assesses surgical procedures and patient specific requirements with the circulating nurse to ensure proper preparation of the OB operating room. Prepares and maintains the sterile operating field for the duration of each surgical procedure. Assists the surgeon as needed during the inter-operative procedure. Assists with room turnover in the OB operating room suites between cases. Performs accurate instrument, sponge, needle, and blade count. Assists nursing staff in direct and non-direct patient care functions. Obtains and articulates pertinent data in an objective manner. Communicates pertinent patient information to the RN to assure continuum of care. Documents the various aspects of care according to RMC policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
