Essential Job Functions:
Uses the NJWIC guided script for assessments, medical screens, food package assignment, referrals and plan
Performs part of the WIC certification as needed including financial and health information
Works closely with breastfeeding staff to coordinate care
Explain and collects signatures for consents to provide health screening, share immunization information and other programs administered under the auspices of the NJDOH
Performs required health screening including anthropometric measurements, blood work
Assesses the health screening data for women, infants and children
Reviews immunization information according to policies set forth
Provides individual and or group nutrition education contacts according to NJWIC Guidelines
Monitors clinic flow to ensure that services are provided in an effective timely manner
Prepares educational themes and displays for classes, waiting rooms and bulletin boards
Participates in community events
Assigns food benefits based upon nutritional assessment
Ensures that participants needing special formula or nutritionals are processes according to NJWIC policies
Protocol requires working closely with doctors and parents to develop appropriate feeding plans
Follows up on monthly formula orders
Educational Skills Required (Degree(s), Certification(s), License, etc.):
Minimum BA/BS Nutrition, ADA Plan IV or V Verification*Does not have to be a registered dietitian.
Operates various office equipment, scales, digital rods, etc.
Interviews and updates in computer intake simultaneously
High level of trustworthiness required
Enjoys working with families from various backgrounds
Bi-lingual skills in various languages are welcomed
