Position Overview
The Coca-Cola's Summer Internship program is an 8-10 week experience at our Apopka, FL plant. The Global Nutrition R&D Intern will work in the Apopka, Florida Global Juice Innovation Center and support product development initiatives for our global juice brands. More specifically, the chosen intern will create secondary recipes for high-risk ingredients to be better prepared for future supply chain complexities. This work would include an investigation of current solutions and an overview of what would be required to bring this to commercial reality (i.e. - new capabilities, manufacturing sites, regulatory/safety/quality/procurement considerations etc.)
Additional responsibilities may include developing, qualifying, reformulating, and validating juice products. The chosen candidate is expected to have the opportunity to lead tasting sessions, manage product stability studies, and work in our pilot plant to support production trials.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities
Evaluate ingredients from fit for purpose standpoint in targeted products
Learn product development process by assisting other R&D team members towards day-to-day R&D activities
Learn end to end process from product ideation to product launch
Learn different beverage manufacturing processes used at industrial scale
Work closely with cross-functional technical team to understand the feasibility of new ingredient application
Conduct bench top formulation work to design and develop new products
Contribute towards building next generation innovation beverages, learn new skills and get to have lots of fun at the same time

Previous internship or industrial experience preferred, but not necessary
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Master's degree with a final graduation date no earlier than December 2024.
Food science or closely related field preferred
Compensation
$6586 per month
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
