General Description
Niagara County Community College is actively seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to join our team as a Nursing Laboratory Technical Assistant. In this pivotal role, you will take on the responsibility of overseeing and operating all nursing laboratories and practice setups. Your contribution will be instrumental in supporting nursing faculty by assisting with nursing skills development and ensuring the efficient use of laboratory equipment. This position reports to the AVPAA of the Nursing, Physical, and Allied Health Division.
The successful candidate will need to provide the college with medical information including a complete physical examination (annually), designated lab tests and vaccines.

Typical Work Activities
Participate in Division orientation program, including the mentoring process.
Participate in the nursing laboratory activities by:
a. Creating a hospital environment with electronic health records, patient charts, medications and treatment supplies
b. Preparing materials for scheduled lab sessions
c. Assisting with nursing skills as needed by instructors
d. Assisting with scheduling students for skill performance evaluation
e. Maintaining documentation of students’ practice of skill performance and communicates with course faculty
f. Supervising the college nursing laboratory time schedule
g. Assisting students in use of equipment and computers
h. Maintaining mannequins, cleans equipment, reports and ensures repairs and maintenance is done as needed
i. Researching, obtaining bids and ordering supplies and equipment for use by faculty for class demonstration and all students in lab sessions.
j. Prepares budget information as requested
k. Maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment. Recommends repairs and replacement
l. Preparing skill competency practice and assessment equipment for students returned to the lab by clinical faculty for unsafe practice.
m. Assisting in Simulation Lab when needed.
Assist in compilation of data pertinent to the Nursing Program when time permits.
Attend professional workshops and continuing education programs pertinent to expertise and self development.
Assist with set up and collection of NCCC Nursing Faculty Competencies and Continuing Education Points.
Assume divisional and college duties.
Attend weekly team planning sessions when assigned.
Attend weekly lab planning sessions and other meetings as needed.
Participate in divisional and college committees.
Other duties as deemed necessary by AVPAA of Nursing, Physical, and Allied
Health.

Experience using Excel.
