Patient conditions include a wide range of acute psychiatric illnesses, including bipolar disorder, substance abuse, ADHD, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, PTSD, and depressive disorders. RN will provide coverage for Psychiatric Intake through the Emergency Department. The Behavioral Health unit provides therapeutic care in a safe, non-threatening environment with the highest expectations of customer satisfaction. As a part of this unit, the RN serves as an important component of the behavioral health team. This team is responsible for independently delivering comprehensive client care based on appropriate growth and development, developing and implementing plan of care, facilitating therapeutic groups and demonstrating effective therapeutic techniques.The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. Furthermore, this environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes.
