JobDescription The Manager is responsible for product line sourcingstrategy development and execution in New Product Introduction (NPI)process. This is a cross-functional leadership role with responsibilityfor project management and accountability for deadlines, results andmetrics. This role is a central Sourcing interface, to manage effectiveengagement with suppliers, development teams, and commodity leaders, todeliver on-time-to market product, best in class cost, and supplycontinuity, while mitigating supply chain risk. This individual musthave the ability to work independently and quickly identifyopportunities. Key responsibilities: Lead and early supplier engagementin Rockwell Automation\'s Common Product Development (CPD) process. Leadsupplier driven cost improvement activities. Support NPI team\'s productcost targets through establishment of best-in-class cost for newcomponents. Drive execution of ISC Supply Chain Material Readiness(SCMR) which includes the utilization of the ISC Part Tracker andCritical Part Process risk management. Reduce product risk throughproper sourcing strategy development and execution. Drive use of\'Preferred\' suppliers. Provide NPI team with supply chain riskassessments which include obsolescence, delivery, currency, logistics,political and other risks. Project manages the communication andactivities between the NPI team and Sourcing/Procurement. (i.e. sourceselection, supplier negotiations, sourcing strategy development,supplier issue resolution, etc.) Facilitates the establishment of supplymanagement parameter guidelines with buyers and planners. (i.e.production authorization agreements, schedule agreements, lot size, leadtime, logistics, packaging, etc.) Drive Sourcing Process Improvementsthrough elimination of variation and waste, focusing on continuousprocess improvement.
