Intertek is looking for a Temporary, Nightshift Piping/Testing Inspector to join our US Site Construction team in Port Allen, LA. Due to the temporary nature of this position, this role is not eligible for benefits.
The Temporary, Nightshift Piping/Testing Inspector is responsible for ensuring that the Project Quality Plan in conjunction with Project Execution Plan is developed and implemented. This role will promote quality awareness throughout the organization, emphasizing excellence, continuous improvement, and corrective action to influence the overall success of company business. Duties:
Capture results of inspection/observations and report in timely manner
Ensure suppliers/contractors have relevant, up to date codes, standards, specifications and drawings
Interface with the discipline engineer, construction engineer, field workers and inspectors in a professional manner
Witness and monitor suppliers/contractors work activities, inspection and test in accordance with the approved Quality Plan, ITP, Quality Procedures and etc.
Assist review of Quality Plan, Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) and Quality Procedures and all pertained QA/QC documentation prior to commencement of any fabrication / construction work
Verify the implementation of PTW (permit to work) LOTO (lock-out and tag-out) and other safety procedures
Able to schedule and monitor ongoing NDE activities
Must be able to work well in a team environment and clearly and professionally communicate with other team members.
Physical Requirements for this role:
Must be able to walk long distances
Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
Must be able to stand for extended durations
Must be able to reach in all directions
Must have good visual acuity with regards to color, depth perception and field vision
Must be able to work in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold temperatures
Must be alert and able to determine job related hazards and recognize when hazards change
Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Preferably holds current certification in Swagelok and Parker tubing fitting installation (Will accept expired certification depending on experience
Qualifications:
Industry standard certifications preferred (CWI, API, etc.)
10+ years of Piping inspection experience required
Proficient Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
