The Aerospace Corporation's Network Systems Department (NSD) is seeking an innovative network systems architect with a strong background in networking architecture and design. You will be leading and supporting the development of future network concepts, architectures, requirements, prototyping, and technology demonstrations. A qualified candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of the latest networking and enterprise computing technologies, the ability to develop new concepts and solve the toughest problems for our customers.

CTED's domains include main-mission communication satellites, wideband links, command and telemetry, and terrestrial networks, along with their enabling technologies. The division comprises all aspects, from architecture to implementation; our engineers work directly with corporate customers to ensure robust and resilient communications.
What You'll Be DoingGuide and contribute to multi-disciplinary engineering teams in the development and analysis of future network architectures and requirementsDrive development and implementation of advanced network protocols, routing, and QoS algorithms and architecturesTake charge in various systems engineering tasks and projects through systems architecture definition, development, analysis, modeling & simulation, and prototype development/validationAssess and develop multiple access communications or engineering technologiesAnalyze and simulate complex network architectures and protocolsProvide independent technical leadership, mentorship, and direction to less experienced staffCoordinate tasks and participate in technical meetings for DoD/IC, Civil, and Commercial customers working closely with members of a diverse team comprising military officers and Government civilians, prime contractors, SE&I contractors and other FFRDCsConduct specialized technical studies and internal research and development (R&D) projects to develop the next generation of Space and Ground network concepts, architectures, and technologiesSupport sustainment and development of core network simulation, emulation, and modeling capabilitiesIdentify and develop new business opportunities with new and existing customersWork Model: This position can be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with some onsite work required.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related disciplineMinimum 12 years of related experience in progressively more responsible rolesProven track record in physical/MAC layers and satellite networksExperience in network design, analysis, and modeling & simulationStrong understanding of network layers, protocols, and routing algorithmsExperience in Python, Matlab, and C/C++.Virtualization and enterprise computing platforms workAbility to travel to support customers at various locationsAbility to learn and use new technologies quickly.This position requires active Secret clearance, which is issued by the US government.
