What Will You Be Doing?
The Network engineer is responsible for surveying, designing, implementing, testing, training and documenting worldwide enterprise class networks in support of our warfighters. Subject Matter Expert in network technologies and must be able to turn customer requirements into functional solutions by coordinating and providing network troubleshooting guidance; identify, diagnose, and resolve complex problems affecting network performance; develop and maintain network documentation.
The Network Engineer will perform the following activities
Research, analyze, recommend, and implement new technologies, standard processes, tools and techniques. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies.Provides full lifecycle network infrastructure and administration support for the installation, tuning, testing, monitoring, upgrading, patching, break/fix, and management, maintenance, and administration of the network infrastructure environment, supporting the LAN/WAN across the enterprise.Provides configuration management support in accordance with compliance and policies and procedures, using configuration management systems to record, track, monitor, and update component configurations and configuration items and changes and account for assets.Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
Education and Experience Requirements
BA/BS or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience3+ years' experience with network architectures Expert level of understanding of VLANs, trunking, Quality of Service, static/dynamic routing and high availability configurationsThe ability to isolate and resolve network performance and communication issues to ensure maximum up time and reliabilityThe ability to excel in a fast paced, demanding environment where each day provides a new set of challenges under short time constraints involving complex network configuration and/or troubleshooting requirementsKnowledge of U.S. Department of Defense security requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures Experience with network monitoring, enterprise network management, and incident responseWorking knowledge of Cisco VOIP and Nexus platforms preferredProven ability to install and configure physical components, routers, switches, firewalls
Required Certifications
Comp TIA Security+ CCNA (CCNP preferred)

Minimum Secret clearanceAbility to hold TS/SCI
