Description
We are currently seeking a seasoned Network Administrator for a hybrid role with a respected investment firm based in Boston. The successful candidate will be required to work onsite for four days weekly and will need to travel to other locations when necessary. Our ideal candidate is a guru in this field with substantial expertise in Extreme Networks, Windows Servers, and more than five years of professional experience. This is a fulltime, direct-hire position.
Job Responsibilities:
Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain network systems such as switches, WLANs, VLANs, and related hardware and software using Extreme Networks technologies.
Administering, supporting, and optimizing Windows server environments while ensuring data integrity through robust backup schemes.
Interact with colleagues and stakeholders to provide them with reliable IT infrastructural support and be able to explain complex, technical concepts clearly.
Participate in the planning and design of enterprise network architecture, underlay and overlay network design for various applications.
Maintain system efficiency and ensure design of system allows all components to function properly together.
Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.
Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyze and isolate issues.
Evaluate and modify system's performance and make necessary improvements.
Identify user needs and ensure appropriate and problem-free computing experiences.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of experience in network administration, with a focus on Extreme Networks technologies and Windows Server environments.
Advanced understanding of network protocols, network devices, and data security.
Experience with Fortinet technologies will be considered an asset.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Flexibility to travel to various locations within the region as needed.
