Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking anNDT Inspectorto support at its Norfolk, Virginia Ship Repair shipyard.
Included responsibilities:
Utilizing blueprints and related work documentation, interprets government ABS, Commercial and Boiler Codes standards and documents.
Performs and documents in-process and final inspections as required by the contract inspection plan.
Writes condition reports of NDT findings along with recommendations.
Monitors BAE Systems personnel and subcontractors in-process work, and documents deficient work accordingly.
Interfaces with Trade Supervisors, Ship Superintendents, and Customer Representatives regarding quality issues.
Working with limited supervision, maintains equipment inventory.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Typically requires a high school diploma, or the equivalent, and be able to perform NDT functions in Magnetic Particle Inspection, Visual Inspection, Liquid Penetrant Inspection, and Ultrasonic Inspection Thickness;
Must be highly attentive to details;
Organizational skills;
Able to communicate effectively, written and spoken;
Ability to work collaboratively with others;
Comfortable working in a shipyard environment.
Note: Open to hiring as an NDT "Learner" or "Trainee" with the foundation to become certified either via schooling &/or experience.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $49600 - $79400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
