  Job Summary

  To provide advanced skills for entry, review and evaluation of Petroleum Storage Tank Investigations, and perform routine work in the environmental enforcement field for a State agency.

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  Responsible for reviewing and evaluating Petroleum StorageTank Investigations.

  Provides technical assistance to support final case resolution.

  Tracks cases from initiation to closure to ensure case status is

  documented.

  Interacts with respondents to encourage compliance, settleenforcement actions, and initiate use and completion of

  Supplemental Environmental Projects (SEPs).

  Provides limited assistance to the public, regulated community,and others regarding enforcement action.

  Required Qualifications

  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with amajor in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, environmental law,

  criminal justice, or related field.

  One (1) year experience in data analysis, environmental quality management, public utilities, business administration, or a related field.

  Attention to detail is essential for this position.

  Preferred Qualifications

  One (1) year of full-time experience in the field of environmental and/or paralegal activities directly related to the examples of work performed.

  Some background in a paralegal position would also be of benefit.

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures; computer usage; customer service principles; business terminology; spelling; and grammar.

  Skill in communicating effectively with internal and external customers verbally and in writing.

  Working Conditions

  Standard office environment. Job functions performed indoors in usual office environment. Job activities include but not limited to sitting, standing, lifting and carrying batches of paper up to 10 lbs. Infrequent travel (i.e., annually) for activities such as job skills training or participating in institutional and client meetings and conferences.
